“Matru Pitru Vandana” is a term from Hindu culture that translates to “Respect for Mother and Father.” It embodies the fundamental values of reverence, gratitude, and duty towards one’s parents. In Hindu philosophy, parents are considered the first gurus or teachers who impart moral, ethical, and spiritual guidance to their children. The concept emphasizes the importance of honouring and caring for one’s parents throughout their lives, acknowledging the debt of gratitude owed to them for their sacrifices and nurturing.
Parents play an irreplaceable role in the lives of their children. This relationship has a profound impact on a child’s mental, physical, social and emotional development as well as their overall well-being and happiness.
‘Matru Pitru Worship Day’ Was celebrated by Gajera International Day to show respect to our parents. We invited the parents who worshipped by their sons or daughters studying here and seek their blessings by offering them tilak, flowers, prayers, sweets and bow down to touch their feet. Parents blessed their children from the bottom of their heatrs. Their combined happiness announces the success of this programme. They are providing and supporting a child with education is one of the landmarks in a child’s development. Parents are also their children’s biggest cheerleaders and give them unconditional love.
Ultimately, Matru Pitru Vandana teaches the value of filial piety, reminding individuals of their responsibility to honor, cherish, and uphold the legacy of their parents as an integral part of their spiritual and cultural heritage.
माँ-बाप ने अपनी नींद भुला कर सुलाया हमको,
अपने आँसू गिराकर हंसाया हमको,
गोद में लेकर झूला झुलाया हमको,
जीवन की हर ख़ुशी से मिलाया हमको.
