Exploring Science and Technology : A visit to Gujarat Science City and VSSE , ISRO , Ahmedabad

On January 12, 2024, the vibrant Grade 10 and 11 Science – Biology and Maths learners of Gajera International School – Katargam embarked on a transformative educational journey to Gujarat Science City and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition (VSSE) at ISRO, Ahmedabad.

The learners, accompanied by dedicated science educators, were immersed in a day of exploration and discovery.

At Gujarat Science City, they delved into the fascinating world of biology through the various aquatic life species in Aquatic Gallery and state of the art technological advancements in Robotics through Robotics Gallery by interactive exhibits and engaging activities.

 The day was filled with awe-inspiring experiences, from exploring the wonders of biology and technology at Gujarat Science City to gaining insights into India’s space exploration history at VSSE. The learners, accompanied by dedicated science educators, also relished the to and fro bus journey and savored delicious food throughout the day. This immersive trip not only ignited their passion for science and technology but also aimed to justify UN Sustainable Development Goals 09, 11, 14, and 15, emphasizing the importance of quality education, sustainable cities and communities, life below water, and life on land.

The educational excursion was a remarkable opportunity for the learners to expand their knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the scientific and technological advancements shaping our world.

Gujarat Science City, a hub of interactive exhibits and engaging activities, provided the learners with a hands-on experience, allowing them to explore various concepts in biology and technological advancements in robotics. From understanding the intricacies of basic robots to delving into the world of industrial and domestic robots, the visit to Gujarat Science City enriched their learning experience and sparked their curiosity for the natural and artificial world, too.

Furthermore, the visit to the Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition (VSSE) at ISRO, Ahmedabad, offered the learners a glimpse into India’s prestigious space research and exploration endeavours. They were able to witness the remarkable achievements of ISRO and understand the significance of space technology in addressing global challenges.
