Ambedkar Jayanti is an important event celebrated on April 14th each year, honoring the birth of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, one of India’s most influential social reformers, jurists, and the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Key Contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
- Drafting the Indian Constitution: Ambedkar’s most significant contribution was drafting the Constitution of India. His vision for an egalitarian society, where every citizen is treated equally, became a reality through his efforts. His work ensured the provision of fundamental rights to all citizens, including Scheduled Castes and Tribes, women, and minorities.
- Fighting for the Rights of Dalits:Ambedkar’s struggle against caste discrimination is one of his most prominent contributions. His work aimed at improving the social, economic, and educational status of the Dalits. He led movements such as the ‘Mahad Satyagraha’ and ‘Kalaram Temple Entry Satyagraha’ to fight for the rights of the untouchables to access public spaces and temples.



- Championing Women’s Rights: Ambedkar was also a pioneer in advocating for women’s rights. He was instrumental in the enactment of the Hindu Code Bill, which sought to reform Hindu personal laws related to marriage, divorce, and inheritance, giving women equal rights.
- Buddhism and Social Justice:In 1956, Ambedkar converted to Buddhism with thousands of his followers, encouraging them to embrace Buddhism as a path of social justice, equality, and intellectual growth. This event marked a significant shift in his fight against untouchability and caste oppression.

The leaners of class X Created Impactful Posters on jute board. They also presented PPTs and speech on life and contribution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar toward equality, social justice, and the upliftment of the oppressed.
